Judy Sparks is the Founder and CEO of Smartegies. With over 30 years of experience in B2B sales and marketing, she partners directly with AEC firm leaders to drive growth through smart branding, targeted strategy, and full-funnel marketing. Known for her candid, no-fluff approach, Judy has helped organizations across North America strengthen their position in competitive markets and win work that moves their business forward.

Before founding Smartegies in 2008, Judy served as Chief Marketing Officer for a global design-build firm, where she managed a $5M marketing budget and helped grow the company from $250M to more than $700M in five years. Today, she brings that same enterprise mindset to mid-sized firms ready to scale. She is also the creator of the Scalable 6™ Framework, a strategic model used to align branding, communications, digital, sales enablement, and ABM to deliver measurable business impact.

A frequent speaker and panelist, Judy has led sessions for national and regional chapters of AIA, ACEC, SMPS, and PSMJ, among others, sharing insights on marketing strategy, business development, and the evolving buyer landscape. She also teaches marketing at Georgia Tech, where she developed the most recent curriculum for the School of Building Construction and has taught within the School of Architecture.

Based in Atlanta, Judy enjoys traveling with her husband and son, cheering for Atlanta United, and supporting her son’s competitive dance journey.

Katie Cash is a Senior Vice President at Smartegies, where she leads growth strategies for AEC firms nationwide. Since joining the firm in 2011, she has guided a wide range of architecture, engineering, and construction clients through strategic marketing efforts that span branding, digital strategy, account-based marketing, communications, and sales enablement — all core components of the firm’s Scalable 6™ Framework.

 

Katie is also the host of the AEC Marketing for Principals podcast and a sought-after speaker for industry organizations such as PSMJ, ACEC, AIA, and NAWIC, where she shares her passion for helping firm leaders market with clarity and purpose.

 

Outside of work, Katie enjoys life with her husband, a civil engineer, and their young daughter, usually chasing adventures, making memories, and squeezing in the occasional adrenaline rush.

Randy Sparks is the Chief Financial Officer at Smartegies, where he blends operational insight, financial strategy, and people-first leadership to support the agency’s long-term growth. With more than 20 years of experience spanning hospitality, retail, design, and business management, he brings a hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset to the day-to-day operations and future planning of the firm.

 

From managing one of Atlanta’s busiest restaurants to running a successful Foot Solutions franchise, Randy’s career has been defined by problem-solving, service excellence, and team empowerment. At Smartegies, he applies that same approach to drive financial discipline, streamline operations, and create an environment where the team can thrive.

 

Outside of work, Randy enjoys being a proud dance and soccer dad, whether he’s cheering at competitions, coaching from the sidelines, following Liverpool FC, or planning their next family adventure.

As Firm Administrator and Staff Accountant at Smartegies, Colleen plays a vital role in optimizing financial operations and ensuring accuracy across internal systems. With broad experience in the accounting field and proficiency in platforms like Workamajig, Microsoft Office, and Justworks, she helps the team maintain operational efficiency and compliance behind the scenes. Known affectionately as part of the “Math Team,” she brings both skill and enthusiasm to a role many would call anything but exciting, though she still loves the satisfaction of balanced books.

 

Outside of work, Colleen enjoys spending time with her 10 amazing grandchildren (8 boys and 2 girls), and loves traveling with family and friends. She considers herself blessed beyond measure and always leads with gratitude.

Meredith Schroeder is the Director of Operations at Smartegies, where she ensures that the moving parts behind every project come together seamlessly. With a strong background in project management and production, she builds and maintains the internal frameworks that support smooth execution — from RFQ/P workflows and digital campaigns to podcast launches and rebrand rollouts. Known for her calm, organized approach, Meredith helps keep teams aligned, timelines on track, and client work delivered with precision and consistency.

 

Based in Easley, South Carolina, Meredith enjoys hiking with her dogs, Lucy and Finley, exploring trails throughout the Upstate. When not on the trail, she’s likely traveling with her husband or searching for the perfect local coffee and pizza spot.

Donna Graybill is a Marketing Strategist at Smartegies, known for blending strong writing with sharp strategy and a storyteller’s instinct for what moves the needle. With a background in public relations and deep experience in the AEC industry, she has led messaging and growth initiatives for firms like Gensler and Ghyabi Consulting, bringing a thoughtful, audience-driven approach to every engagement.

 

Based in Florida, Donna offers clients both regional insight and national perspective, helping them grow with focus, clarity, and intention.

 

When the workday winds down, she’s often chasing sunsets with her two beach-loving kids, her NASA-scientist husband, and their two sandy-pawed dogs.
