What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a web-based AI chatbot that has been making headlines since it launched in November 2022. It stands for Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer. What ChatGPT can do and how quickly it can do it is why it’s relevant to AEC.
With a few clicks and prompts, the tool can give you answers and content to help you to plan a tradeshow activation, give you guidance in drafting a project workplan, write a blog or social posts, and more – the use cases are only limited by your creativity.
How to get Started with ChatGPT:
Step 1 - Sign Up for an Account
Sign up is easy. Simply visit this website and select “Sign up.”
*Note - Due to its popularity, the system may be at capacity when you try to set up an account. Don’t worry. You can be put on a waitlist and get notified when space opens up.
Step 2 - Verify Your Account
The system will send you a verification email to the email address you used to sign up. Check it
and follow the verification process. The system will send you through a series of prompts to fill
in all necessary details to activate your account, including accepting their terms and conditions.
It should only take a few minutes to set up and then you will be ready to use the tool.
Step 3 – Start Using the Tool
ChatGPT is surprisingly easy to use. To get started, type a question in the search bar. The interface
mimics a conversation thread where users ask questions or give prompts, and the AI chatbot
delivers answers. You can continue the thread until the tool produces a response you are ready
to use.
